Advocates and BJP MP’s pitch for a separate Allahabad High Court bench in Western UP

New Delhi: In Allahabad High Court, 52 per cent pending cases are belongs to the districts of West Uttar Pradesh. This is high time to setup a bench of Allahabad High Court in the districts of West Uttar Pradesh said convener of High Court Bench Kendriya Bench Sangharsh Samiti (HCBKBSS) advocate Prabodh Kumar Sharma.

He said while addressing media persons in Delhi on Monday.

He further said, with a sheer population of 22 crore, Uttar Pradesh in the biggest state of India and there are only one High Court, Allahabad High Court and its extension bench is in Lucknow. The people of West UP, who want to reach the High court Bench have to travel 500 to 750 km to reach there. It is not only annoying but painful.

“It is need of the hour to set up a bench of Allahabad High Court in the districts of West Uttar Pradesh. We have been demanding it for last five decades but we did not had consensus but now we are united and committed to set up a bench there.”

Following the event, BJP MP from Bulandshahr Bhola Singh said that, “I have written letters to concerned department in this regard and all the MPs and MLAs of West UP have united for this common cause.”

“I will meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to address the issue,” he added.
