Advocate’s killing: Lawyers abstain from work in #Ghaziabad courts

District Bar Association President Ram Avtar Gupta said that protesting lawyers and members of Sales Tax Bar Association raised slogans against apathy of state government towards lawyer fraternity to provide security to them. An effigy of the chief minister was also burnt in the court compound by advocates. Addressing the lawyers, Gupta alleged that state government is partial towards the police, adding, stern action must be initiated against the errant police sub-inspector. The kin of the deceased lawyer must get a government job and an ex-gratia compensation, he demanded. He further added that Bar Council of India has exhorted the lawyers to abstain from their work on March 16 to press their demand for an early action against the police officer accused of shooting the lawyer.
