New Delhi :– When the government falls with just a vote, Congress on Tuesday said that there are 42 lakh fake voters in Rajasthan and during the BJP regime 70 lakh voters have been increased which is a phenomenal growth in comparison to previous years.
This came when assembly election is due in Rajasthan in January 2019 and Congress claiming to form the government there.
Earlier, a delegation of Congress leaders comprises Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot, Vivek Tankha met with the Chief Election Commissioner, OP Rawat and handed over a report of their claims. Thought, the last date of filing claims for scrutiny in voter list is August 21, 2018.
Addressing media after meeting with Election Commissioner, Congress leader Vivek Tankha said, ‘Few months back we complaint about 65 lakh fake voters in Madhya Pradesh and commission has removed 24 lakh fake names. The trend in continue in Rajasthan too. In BJP regime (2013-18) around 70 lakh new voters have been added in the list, which is higher than population growth.’
Just like MP, claimed to have conducted a survey in Rajasthan and found that there are around 42 lakh fake voters in the state out of 4.75 crore. ‘We have raised this issue before election commissioner and also given our report with an affidavit and CD of our report.’
Earlier, Congress complained to Election Commission that there are 65 lakh fake voters in Madhya Pradesh and commission should scrutinise the list.
Later, Congress National General Secretary, Ashok Gehlot said, ‘Due to one vote Atal Bihari Bajpayee government had fallen in there are 42 lakh fake voters. How we can say, election commission is conducting free and fair election?’
‘This is a serious matter, which should be addressed before election,’ he added.
