Ahead of MCD Polls-Delhi Police ceases big unit of weapons

A smuggler was arrested from Nizamuddin area with 30 semi-automatic pistols, a carbine and cartridges, police told during a press conference on Saturday.
The weapons were being smuggled in for use by criminals during MCD polls, police added.
Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, deputy commissioner of police (special cell), said that the smuggler arrested on Friday night was identified as Rajpal Singh from Madhya Pradesh.
Singh was arrested from the Nizamuddin by a special team following information that he would be in the area to deliver a consignment of arms and ammunition to his contact,Yadav added.
