Akvo Ranked Among Asia-Pacific’s Most Innovative Companies for 2026 by Fast Company

National News (01/04/2026): India-based water technology firm Akvo Atmospheric Water Systems Pvt. Ltd. has been recognized as one of the Most Innovative Companies in the Asia-Pacific region for 2026 by the global business publication Fast Company. The company secured the 10th position in the Asia-Pacific ranking, highlighting its growing influence in the field of sustainable water solutions and climate-focused innovation.

Akvo’s inclusion in the prestigious list places it among a select group of companies transforming industries through technological advancements. Notably, it is also one of only three Indian companies featured in the 2026 global ranking, underscoring the country’s increasing contribution to innovation on the international stage.

The recognition comes in acknowledgement of Akvo’s pioneering work in Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG)—a technology that extracts moisture from the air and converts it into safe drinking water. Developed to address the escalating global water crisis, the technology offers a decentralized approach to water supply, particularly relevant for regions experiencing severe water shortages.

Speaking about the recognition, Bagga described the achievement as an important milestone for the organization and a validation of its broader mission. According to him, climate-driven technologies have the potential to scale globally, especially as countries like India face increasing water stress.

Industry observers note that solutions like atmospheric water generation are gaining attention as urbanization, climate variability, and excessive groundwater extraction continue to strain traditional water supply systems. Decentralized technologies that generate water locally are increasingly being viewed as viable alternatives to conventional infrastructure.

The Most Innovative Companies list released annually by Fast Company is considered one of the most influential global benchmarks for innovation. It highlights organizations that are redefining industries through breakthroughs in technology, sustainability, design, and business transformation.

With installations already operating in 15 countries, Akvo has been steadily expanding its global footprint.
