New Delhi (India), 11th April 2023: Tongyi Qianwen, a new AI language model that Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. just unveiled, will soon be included into all of its business apps. Similar to ChatGPT, Tongyi Qianwen is a substantial language model that will initially be included in DingTalk, Alibaba’s office messaging app.
According to the manufacturer, it can be used to send emails, prepare business proposals, and summarise meeting notes.
Additionally, Tmall Genie, Alibaba’s voice assistant, will get the language model. In accordance with a statement from the firm, Tongyi Qianwen will also be made available to clients of Alibaba Cloud so they can create their own unique huge language models.
Tongyi Qianwen is based on Tongyi, a framework for pre-trained models that Alibaba owns and uses to combine different AI models. Alibaba’s decision to include an AI language model into its commercial apps is a sign of how crucial artificial intelligence is becoming to modern business practises.
Alibaba hopes to compete with US rivals like OpenAI, Microsoft Bing chatbot, and even Google Bard using Tongyi Qianwen.
Alibaba was said to be creating a ChatGPT competitor in February of this year. According to the corporation, work on the new large language model AI began in 2017 and was being tested internally prior to going live.
Tongyi Qianwen of Alibaba will be able to communicate in both Chinese and English. The business is the second Chinese startup to launch its own variation of ChatGPT-like large language model, Baidu has also come out with its own chatbot Ernie.
