Alwar lynching: Uproar in Parliament for second day, Opposition demands apology from Naqvi for denying incident
New Delhi, April 7: There was ruckus in Parliament for the second day on Friday over the Alwar lynching incident as the Opposition demanded an apology from Union Minister of State Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi for denying the incident in Rajya Sabha on Thursday. Naqvi had on Thursday said, “No such incident, as is being reported, happened.” The Congress and other Opposition parties demanded an apology from Naqvi on Friday, raising ‘maafi maango’ slogans in the Well of the House, and refused to let the House function.
The Opposition MPs walked to the well of the House and said that it was irresponsible of the minister to have outrightly denied that any such incident happened. Reacting to this, Naqvi said that no criminal act should be seen on religious lines. He added that the Congress was being irresponsible. He also said that Home Minister Rajnath Singh will make a statement on the Alwar lynching case in Parliament on Monday.
