Amid COVID wave concerns, officials take stock of health facilities in Delhi, check preparedness

New Delhi, Dec 26, 2022: Amid reports of a fresh wave of COVID creating havoc in China, East Delhi Magistrate Anil Banka has said that due to the rising cases in Delhi, every government hospital is now being physically visited by the government teams.

“A list of beds and ventilators, liquid medical oxygen, and other equipment is being developed. It will be prepared by Monday night,” he added.

In light of the recent increase in Covid instances in several nations, authorities announced that from this week they have started physically inspecting all of the government hospitals in Delhi to determine how well-prepared they were to handle any situation.

On Tuesday, all local government hospitals will undertake a simulated drill in accordance with the Center’s instructions.

Amit Singla, secretary for health in Delhi, had on Sunday officiated over a meeting with all district judges and instructed them to visit all hospitals and compile a list of all the beds and equipment on hand.

Moreover, through a website run by the Delhi government, the public will start to get a access to real-time information about the availability of beds, oxygen cylinders, and ventilators.
