Amitabh Bacchan Congratulates Son Abhishek for ‘Ghoomer’ Yet again, states ‘Has been tough to reserve on compliments’

Mumbai(India), 18/08/23: Amitabh Bachchan has praised his actor-son Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in his latest film Ghoomer once more, adding that he will no longer reserve his compliments as a father. Ghoomer, directed by R Balki, stars Abhishek Bachchan as a former cricketer turned coach, and Saiyami Kher as a cricketer dedicated to the sport.

Soon after seeing R Balki’s film, Amitabh remarked that the performances and the film moved him to tears. He returned to his blog late Thursday to express his admiration for the picture, just hours before it was released in theatres. In the film, which opens in theatres on August 18, Shabana Azmi plays Saiyyami’s onscreen grandmother, and Angad Bedi plays her lover.

Amitabh wrote in his blog, “It is beyond all doubt that Ghoomer is a very superior film. I say this as a father yes, but also as a long-standing member of this fantastic fraternity. At this young age, Abhishek, and in the duration of the time (that) you have been in the Industry, you have played the most complex characters with immense conviction, diversity, and aplomb.”

He added, “Each one (has been) difficult and different, and each (one) successful. My pride has no bounds. It has been tough to be in reserve on compliments and facts. But no more. It has been spoken and shall be spoken ever. My love.”

Amitabh Bachchan appears as a guest in Ghoomer. He appears as a special commentator in the film, although Abhishek and Amitabh do not share the screen throughout the movie.

Amitabh had previously stated on his Ghoomer blog that he had seen the film twice on the same day and described it as “simply incredible.” He also stated that he cried while viewing the film, particularly due of Abhishek’s performance. He also commended Balki’s performance as narrator of the story was remarkable.
