The inaugural session of this grand cultural extravaganza event brought together students, faculty, and esteemed guests to celebrate creativity, talent, and unity, marking the beginning of an unforgettable celebration of music, dance, theater, arts, and more.

Amifest is the annual cultural festival of Amity University Haryana, celebrated as a testament to artistic expression, unity, and youthful exuberance. It brings together students from diverse backgrounds to showcase their talent, creativity, and collaborative spirit. Each year, the festival stands as a beacon of cultural vibrancy and intellectual engagement, creating memories that last a lifetime.

This year marks the 13th edition of Amifest, proudly embracing the theme “India 360 Degrees: Where Heritage Meets Modernity,” reflecting the university’s vision of blending cultural traditions with contemporary innovation. The festival aims to foster an environment of inclusion, creativity, and community, where students not only celebrate culture but also strengthen their leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.

The event kicked off with the lighting of the lamp by Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) P.B. Sharma; Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Madhukar; Deputy Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Sanjna Vij; and Dean Students Welfare (DSW), Major General JS Dhull. The collective presence of these academic stalwarts set a spiritually uplifting tone for the festival.

Adding to the grandeur, a mesmerizing Ganesh Vandana performance invoked divine blessings and captivated the audience. The rhythmic elegance and cultural grace showcased the rich artistic heritage that Amity University takes pride in nurturing.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Sanjna Vij, Deputy DSW, emphasized the significance of such events in fostering collaboration, teamwork, and discipline among students. Her words underscored how Amifest is more than just a cultural festival—it is a celebration of unity and shared passion.

The ceremonial address by Prof. (Dr.) P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Haryana, profoundly resonated with the core ethos and values upheld by the institution. In his speech, Prof. Sharma underscored Amity University Haryana’s commitment to not only academic excellence but also to fostering a deep sense of social responsibility and community engagement among its students. He passionately conveyed that “Amity stands for connecting people with the community,” a sentiment that reflects the university’s larger mission of developing well-rounded, responsible citizens who are empowered to contribute positively to society.

The celebration of culture through Amifest is a prime example of this sentiment, where creativity is not just an art form but a medium for fostering social connections, mutual respect, and shared learning among diverse communities, the Vice chancellor added.

Building on this, Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Madhukar, Pro Vice Chancellor of Amity University Haryana, reflected on the broader educational philosophy of the Amity Education Group. He highlighted that the university’s core principles are rooted in the seamless fusion of tradition and modernity. “At Amity, modernity blends with traditions, shaping the sanskar (values) and ethics of our students,” Prof. Madhukar remarked. His statement reinforced the vision that Amity University strives to cultivate students who are not only academically proficient but also grounded in cultural values, integrity, and a strong ethical framework.

These remarks from the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor set the tone for the rest of Amifest 2025, highlighting the event as a celebration not only of artistic talent but also of the holistic and inclusive educational environment that Amity University is committed to fostering for all its students.

The Amity Musical Society mesmerized one and all with a powerful Shiv Tandav performance, setting a commanding and spiritually charged atmosphere. The narration accompanying the act was seamlessly delivered by Dramebaaz and Ek Awaaz, AUH’s dynamic theatre clubs, adding a creative storytelling element that left the audience enthralled.

Dance performances by Dance Elite and Jhankaar clubs generated more excitement with their energetic and graceful moves. Adding a unique touch, Amiko delivered a powerful presentation that captivated everyone with its creative brilliance, paving the way for a glamorous fashion show that turned the plaza into a runway of innovation and style.

The cultural momentum continued with Nihon and Bihu Dance performances, offering a beautiful glimpse into India’s artistic diversity. The stage was enlivened with electrifying performances by UAC, Satrang, and Bhangra Rifles, each act adding a burst of energy and enthusiasm.

The inaugural event concluded on a heartfelt note with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Maj. Gen. JS Dhull, who expressed deep gratitude to the organizers, participants, and audience for their collective effort in making the event a grand success.
