Amul, Mother Dairy hike milk prices in different regions

New Delhi, 16 August 2022: Amul has increased the cost of fresh milk by Rs 2 per litre in all major regions including Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Mumbai. The new pricing will take effect on August 17.

Following suit, Mother Dairy too decided to increase the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR by Wednesday.

Now, every 500 ml of Amul Taaza, Amul Shakti, and Amul Gold will cost Rs 25, Rs 28, and Rs 31, respectively. Less than the industry average increase in food prices is a 4% MRP increase brought on by the increase of Rs 2 per litre.

Owing to the rising operational costs and milk production prices, the prices were hiked. According to Amul, the price of just feeding the cattle has increased by roughly 20% from the previous year.

According to a statement from Amul, “Considering the growth in input costs, our member unions have also boosted farmers’ prices in the region of 8-9% over the previous year.”
