ASI, Delhi Police suspend for commenting on women’s lipstick

[12:03 PM, 1/9/2020] Ten News Saurabh Kumar: New Delhi: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) has been suspended pending inquiry after he made a remark on the lipstick of a woman passing by. A video of the ASI touching the woman’s feet and apologising went viral on social media.
In the video, the woman can also be seen pushing the cop in anger. In the 1 minute 58 second-long video, the police officer can be seen touching the feet of the woman and apologising to her. The woman said, “Don’t you dare tell any woman about how her lipstick looks again.”
Other police officers are seen trying to ask a man who was recording the video to stop. The policeman keeps on apologising with his hands folded. The ASI was seated in his car and came out to comment on the lipstick of the woman. The woman works as a sweeper and was on duty when the incident occurred.
