New Delhi (14/10/2022): Security of Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has been upgraded by the Central Government.
This upgradation has been done from the Z category to the Z+ category. Now Sarma is among selected few individuals in the country with highest level of security.
Above Z+ there is only SPG cover which is provided only to the Prime Minister of India.
The upgradation of the security was reviewed in consultation with the Central Reserve Police Force.
The order to upgrade the security for Sarma came from the Union Home Ministry.
