New Delhi, 20/06/2023: On January 14, the day of Makar Sankranti, the Ram temple in Ayodhya, will be consecrated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony, and the rituals will last ten days, according to Nripendra Mishra, chairman of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee.
He confirmed that efforts will be made to broadcast the consecration ceremony in India and overseas. While displaying a model of the temple, he stated that the temple’s ground floor, which will be ready by October, will be reserved for “Ram Katha” until the four-story temple is done.
The 360 ftX235 ft construction will contain 160 columns on the ground floor, 132 on the first story, and 74 on the second. Five “mandaps” or pavilions will be built.
The tower, which will stand 161 feet above the sanctum sanctorum, will be built entirely of stone and marble from Rajasthan, with no steel or bricks utilised.
The temple is built in the Nagara style with 46 teak wood doors. The sanctum sanctorum’s door will be gold-studded. While the main temple would take up three acres, the 9-acre complex will be surrounded by a perimeter wall. The Ramayan will be depicted in sculptures on the wall. The temple’s three gates and spire will be gold-plated.
The finished temple complex will contain a pilgrim facilitation centre, museum, archives, research centre, auditorium, cattle shed, ritual platform, administration buildings, and priest accommodation.
