Bank officer’s house in Govindpuram burgled
Gaziabad: Burglars broke into the locked house of a 28-year-old bank official in Govindpuram on Saturday and made off with about Rs 1.8 lakh in cash and 15 ounces of gold jewellery.
An FIR has been lodged at the Kavi Nagar police station under Section 380 (theft in dwelling house, etc) of the IPC.
According to police, Jagpreet Singh lives with his elderly parents in I Block of Govindpuram. The burglary happened on Saturday afternoon when Singh had gone to work. His parents were also out of town.
“My mother had gone to my elder brother’s house in Uttarakhand and my father was in Lakhimpur for his company-related work. Around 4.45pm on Saturday, I received a call from a neighbour about the burglary. I reached my home around 5.30pm and found a crowd in front of the house. Burglars had broken the main door to enter the house and had ransacked both floors of the house,” said Singh.
“An FIR was registered on Saturday evening,” said Ashok Sisodiya, SHO, Kavi Nagar.
