Greater Noida News (01/03/2026): The All India Bar Association has strongly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm condemnation of the inclusion of a controversial chapter on alleged corruption in the judiciary in the Class VIII school syllabus. Terming the content objectionable and damaging, the Bar has also urged the Union Government to order a comprehensive and transparent inquiry into the matter.

In a formal communication addressed to the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the All India Bar Association, who is also a former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, expressed deep appreciation for the Prime Minister’s clear and unequivocal stand against what was described as an attempt to undermine the credibility of the judiciary.

According to the Bar Association, legal professionals across the country believe that the inclusion of such a chapter is not a mere oversight. Instead, it is viewed as a deliberate and motivated act by certain vested interests seeking to tarnish the image of the judiciary and create unnecessary friction between the Executive and the Judiciary—two foundational pillars of India’s constitutional framework.

The Bar noted that the present government has consistently demonstrated respect for judicial independence and upheld the dignity and constitutional role of courts. Any suggestion to the contrary, especially when presented to school-going children, was described as misleading, irresponsible, and deeply concerning.

The Association further stated that the chapter contains sweeping and unverified allegations that could weaken public trust in the justice delivery system. Introducing such narratives at the school level, it warned, risks causing long-term harm to institutional credibility and disturbing the delicate balance envisaged by the Constitution.

In view of the seriousness of the issue, the Bar has called upon the government to initiate a detailed inquiry into the circumstances under which the disputed content was introduced. It has also sought identification of those responsible for drafting and approving the material, including scrutiny of any political or ideological affiliations that may have influenced the process.

The Bar Association expressed confidence that an impartial investigation would expose a deliberate attempt to malign the judiciary while simultaneously sowing discord between constitutional institutions. Reiterating its commitment to protecting the independence and dignity of the judiciary, the Bar assured the Prime Minister of its full support and cooperation in any corrective steps taken by the government.
