Bar Council to Protest Against Law Commission Recommendations on May 2

Bar Council of India and the representatives of all the High Court Bar association of the country unanimously and strongly oppose the actions of Law Commission of India for attempting to take away the autonomy and Independence of the Indian Bar, said during a meeting on April 15 in New Delhi.

The meeting further expresses strong resentment to the recommendations of Law Commission by which it has put the entire legal fraternity in jeopardy. The chairman of Law Commission has misled the government by making false statement about the Bar Council of India.
Further, Bar Council said that, if the recommendations of Law Commission are not rejected, then on May 2,2017 there would be a rally of Bar Councils of India, all the members of all the Bar Councils and Bar associations of the Country at New Delhi. The protest march will start from Patiala House Court to Rajghat.
