After the Worldcuo Exit and With Ravi Shastri’s tenure now all set to end in a matter of days, the Cricket fans have been started voicing their opinions. Quite a number of fans have said on social media that they would love to see Sourav Ganguly or Virender Sehwag as the head coach of the team. Sehwag had applied for the head coach’s post in 2017 but had lost out to Shastri.
Here are those conditions:
Head Coach of a full member Test Playing Nation for a minimum period of 2
years OR; Head Coach of an Associate member /IPL or Equivalent International
Leagues/First Class Teams/ National A teams, for a minimum period
of 3 years
Should have played a minimum of 30 Test Matches OR 50 ODIS OR;
Should have BCCI Level 3 Certification or equivalent
Below 60 years of age
Well, both Ganguly and Sehwag are below 60 years of age and have played more than 30 Tests. However, neither of the two have coached any international team. Sehwag managed Kings XI Punjab but for a brief period of time and that too not entirely as head coach. On the other hand, Ganguly’s only experience in the backroom staff is serving as the mentor of Delhi Capitals in 2019 IPL. Thus neither of the two legendary players can apply for the post.
