New Delhi, 20 October 2022: Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal came under attack from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who said that the AAP government had given the former three civic bodies in Delhi “step-motherly treatment” and it owed them Rs 40,000 crores.
“The people of Delhi will have to decide in the upcoming MCD elections whether they want to be AAP-nirbhar or Atmanirbhar,” he said.
In reference to the Ghazipur dumpyard at the MCD’s Tehkhand waste-to-energy plant at Tughlakabad in New Delhi, he further stated that we shall respond to Arvind Kejriwal’s interactions with MCDs in a democratic manner. By 2025, I think the MCD will have helped us set up facilities in Delhi for processing daily trash. Such accumulations and mountains of trash would no longer be visible in the future.
“Delhi residents must pick whether they choose the politics of “Vigyapan” (advertisement) or Vikas,” the home minister said, adding, “People should also choose whether they like “prachaar” (campaign) politics or parivartan (transformation) politics”
While in response, Kejriwal questioned, if in the next MCD elections, people have to decide whether they want a Delhi full of garbage or a clean Delhi?
