New Delhi: Jolted with the betrayal of Nitish Kumar by forming JDU-BJP collision government in Bihar and later cancellation of his Rajya Sabha seat, veteran leader and former National President of Janta Dal United (JDU) Sharad Yadav and his supporters floated a party, Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD).
However, the case of proprietorship of JDU between Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav is before the court and this new party is a canon to fight upcoming elections.
With his interview with Ten News, Sharad Yadav shared his views of slew of issues including his disagreement with the view of Nitish Kumar for going with BJP, four years of BJP and 2019 election scenario.
Q- What is the reason to float a new political party Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) and what will be the ideology of the party?
A – First of all, I’m not the sole creator of this party. Second, LJD has been formed by my supporters and I have assured them to extend my full support. As far as the ideology is concern, our ideology is similar to JDU which was earlier our party and matter of proprietorship is before the court and no one knows how much time it will take.
So, the General Elections are near and LJD is our cannon to fight these elections.
Q – At the time of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani, JDU was the part of NDA, so, when and why you have lost faith on BJP and you become so critic for BJP?
A – Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani’s BJP and today’s BJP is far different. When they were in the party we have common agenda on many issues but the current BJP is communal one.
Moreover, they failed to fulfill the promises they had made in 2014. Notebandi, GST has broken the backbone of this country. It is a useless government.
Q – BJP has completed four years in office and BJP president Amit Shah is claiming that BJP has given political stability to this county, corruption-free government, reclaimed the glory of India in the world and so on?
A – People have voted BJP not for political stability but to creating jobs, implement recommendation of Swaminathan Committee report on agriculture, hike in minimum selling price (MSP), end inflation, development the country but instead of doing so, the party is busy in engineering riots and defaming constitution.
Q – You are in politics since 1974. You have seen raise and fall of many governments. How you rate this government as compared to previous ones?
A – It is a worst government I have ever seen. They have affected the life of farmers, businessmen, labours, common man. Moreover, they are also trying to malign the constitution. They have no open but communal mindset.
Q – 2019 General Election it is going to be BJP Vs All, how you see this?
A – This is a challenge. Talks and discussions to take all opposition parties on the common ground are underway soon the result will be in front of you.
