Bihar CM’s helicopter hovers over Hajipur Stadium; no official fault reported

Patna, July 11 (IANS) An unusual incident drew attention during Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s visit to Akshaywat Rai Stadium in Hajipur, Vaishali district, when the helicopter carrying him reportedly hovered over the venue for several minutes shortly after take-off.

Although the situation caused temporary concern among officials and people present at the venue, the helicopter later resumed its normal flight and departed for Patna. As of now, no official statement has confirmed any technical malfunction or other reason for the incident.

The Chief Minister had attended a programme in Hajipur where discussions were held on development initiatives and administrative reforms. After the event concluded, the helicopter remained airborne over the stadium for longer than expected, prompting security personnel and administrative officials to remain on alert.

Eyewitnesses said the helicopter appeared to descend briefly before regaining altitude, leading to anxiety among those present. As a precautionary measure, security agencies immediately heightened vigilance, police and administrative officials asked people to move away from the open area, and crowd management measures were implemented around the stadium.

The situation returned to normal after the helicopter resumed its flight towards Patna. Authorities have not issued any official explanation regarding the unusual flight pattern.

During his visit, Samrat Chaudhary also visited the District Registration Office, where he launched several initiatives to make public services more accessible and transparent. Among the major announcements under the Sabka Samman, Jeevan Aasaan campaign were home registration facilities for citizens aged 80 years and above, allowing registration officials to complete land registration formalities at beneficiaries’ residences.

Apart from that, a paperless registration system to enhance the digital security of documents and GIS-based technology for site inspections to improve transparency and efficiency were also launched. The initiatives are intended to simplify property registration procedures and promote greater use of technology in public administration.

Despite persistent rain and adverse weather conditions since morning, a large number of NDA leaders, party workers, public representatives, and local residents attended the programme.

Special security arrangements had been made throughout Hajipur in view of the Chief Minister’s visit, with police and administrative personnel deployed at key locations. The official programme concluded peacefully, with attendees welcoming the newly announced citizen-service initiatives.

Meanwhile, the helicopter’s brief hovering over the stadium remained a subject of discussion, though officials have not attributed it to any confirmed technical issue or security concern.
