Speaking About the Motivation behind the compilation of this book, Dr H Chaturvedi said,

“I have a deep involvement with Higher Education as the Director of Leading B School in India BIMTECH. My involvement with Education Promotion Society of India as an Aleternate President, we have been working in this area deeply. We have been supported by AICTE University Grant Commission and also Ministrty of HRD. If India has to surge ahead and become super power in economy it has to improve the quality of higher education. So I realised there is need of book on quality, assurance, accreditation and ranking. This motivated and I started working in early 2018 and I was able to complete by work in October 2018 and now book in is in the hands of the people.”

Talking about the current status of quality assurance, and ranking in India he said,

“I know it’s hardly 25 years of journey of Accreditation body in our country so ranking also started in year 2000 during last 2 decades lot of efforts has been made by the Ministry of HRD and the Accreditation body like NAAC, NBA and some other bodies. These bodies are providing Accreditation services but the progress has been very slow and I can quote the data with the report of NAAC and NBA plus universitiesand 45 Thousand Colleges. Only 20% Colleges and Universities have been Accredited so far.”

While giving recommendations to Ministry of HRD, UGC and Accreditation bodies , BIMTECH’s Director hoped that India see a quality revolution in coming 5 years,

“My recommendations to Ministry of HRD and Regulatory Bodies and Accreditation Agencies is that they should create a ecosystem where benefit of accredition should be visible to all the stakeholders. Right now benefits are not visible but the government announced many policies in the last two years. Under those policies it is necessary for universities and colleges that if they want to go ahead they have to start new programs.”

Talking about the strategy for the reach of the book he said that we will ensure that book reaches to the policy makers at MHRD and the owners of Private schools, Universities and larger acedemic fraternity he said,

“We are devicing a marketing plan to the top people of MHRD’s, Prakash Javadekar, Higher Education Secretary Subramaniam and to other top policy makers. I have decided to go personally and to give a brief presentation about the book. To all the Vice Chancellors of the university I will send them a copy of the book.”
