The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, under the leadership of its  president  Shri Ajay Maken, today hold a demonstration against the
BJP-led Central Government and the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi to protest their anti-people policies and the  worsening power and water situation in Delhi, at the 100 Futa Road Chowk, Chhattarpur in the Chhattarpur Assembly constituency. The massive demonstration was organized by Chhattarpur former MLA Shri Balram Tanwar.

Thousands of demonstrators assembled at the Chhattarpur 100 Futa Road Chowk since morning, and shouted anti-Government slogans for their plight on various fronts.

DPCC president Shri Ajay Maken, addressing the demonstrators, said the Kejriwal Government was fully responsible for the frequent power cuts and severe water shortage in Delhi as the AAP Government had not worked out any summer action plan to address these perennial problems. He said the power companies were pulling out all the tricks and applying various strategies to increase the power tariff in Delhi,  but the Kejriwal Government was keeping a deathly silence on the matter, instead of stonewalling the efforts of the power companies to hike power tariff. He said the Kejriwal Government should have taken prompt steps to ensure 24-hour power supply in Delhi, but the AAP Government has let down the people, and put Delhiites in terrible discomfort with temperatures soaring every day. Shri Maken said Shri Kejriwal had come to power on the basis of the promises he made to the people of giving power at concessional rates, and water free of cost, but at the beginning of the onset of summer, the power and water supply have gone haywire with regular power cuts and terrible water shortage harassing the people, even though the AAP Government has completed 100 days in power in Delhi.

Ex MP Shri Sajjan Kumar said there are terrible crises of Power and Water in the South Delhi area including Chhattarpur Assembly. He said people living in un-authorized colonies are being subjected to power cuts for hours together and they are not getting water for days together. He said the people of entire South Delhi were fed-up water shortage. He said the empanding hiked in the power terrif from Monday will inflict a heavy burden on the people of Delhi, which will not tolerated by the Congress party.

Ex MLA Shri Balram Tanwar said the Kejriwal Government has meted out step-motherly treatment to the people of Chattarpur, and the power and water crises have become beyond tolerance in the area, as people have been living like in a hell-like situation with the onset of summer.
