BJP has always been anti-poor and anti-farmer: CONGRESS

NEW DELHI : Lashing out at union Agriculture minister’s statement in which he said that “no state has done for farmers as much as Madhya Pradesh did, senior congress leader Manish Tiwari called the statement ‘extremely irresponsible’ while speaking to media persons in New Delhi.

“This is an extremely irresponsible statement and needs to be strongly condemned,” he said, “In last year sixteen hundred farmers have committed suicide in Madhya Pradesh. Since 2011, over six thousand farmers have committed suicide. All of this in the wake of BJP government.”

He also added that wherever there is a BJP government, poor people and farmers have always borne the brunt. “Recent actions from BJP testifies how anti-poor and anti-farmer they are.”
