Delhi, August 26th, 2022: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and other MLAs from his party visited the Rajghat on Thursday to pay their respects to the Mahatma Gandhi, after which he called for a meeting of 54 MLAs at his residence amidst the political frenzy in Delhi.

This comes a day after AAP leaders alleged that BJP was offering them 20 crores each to quit AAP and join forces with the saffron party.
They further said that BJP’s attempt to overthrow AAP in the capital was called “Operation Lotus”.

Regarding this, Delhi CM Kejriwal said in a statement that BJP had kept 800 crores ready to buy 40 AAP MLAs and topple his party in Delhi.

However, Kejriwal added that none of the AAP leaders have accepted BJP’s alleged poaching bid. “I want to tell the people of Delhi that you have voted for an honest party. We will die but will never betray the people of the country”.

AAP leader Atishi said, “BJP has been trying for days to topple the Delhi government. Our MLAs are being offered money and being threatened. Delhi’s deputy chief minister was threatened too. BJP has attempted Operation Lotus earlier too. They’ve always failed, they’ll always fail.”

Taking a stand for Dy CM Manish Sisodia, Kejriwal said that he too was offered money to join BJP and become their chief ministerial candidate but he turned down their offer.
Praising the deputy CM, Kejriwal said that he must have done some “good deeds” in life that he got someone like Sisodia by his side.

Meanwhile, BJP challenged AAP to reveal the names of those who allegedly contacted its MLAs with an offer to switch sides and claimed that the Kejriwal-led party was trying hard to divert attention from the Delhi government’s ‘liquor scam’.
