New Delhi (26/02/2020): Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has attacked the Congress President Sonia Gandhi at the Center for the Delhi violence.
He said, Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s statement is unfortunate and condemnable. At such a time, all parties should ensure that peace is maintained, instead, blaming the government is dirty politics. Politicizing this violence is wrong.
The Congress on Wednesday targeted the Central Delhi government over the ongoing violence in Delhi and said that it failed to restore peace in the capital. After the meeting of the Congress Working Committee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi interacted with journalists. She said that the Home Minister should resign taking responsibility for it. She questioned why paramilitary forces were not called after the police failed in Delhi? What was the Chief Minister of Delhi doing? How many police forces were put in the riot area? What was the Home Minister doing from Sunday and where was he?
A meeting of the CWC was held today in which the situation after the violence in several areas of North East Delhi was mainly discussed. Meanwhile, the party decided to organize “peace march” later today afternoon in which several senior Congress leaders were expected to be present.
The CWC meeting was attended by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, senior leaders AK Antony, KC Venugopal and many other leaders. CWC is the highest policy-making unit of the Congress.
