#BJP to kick off ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in #UP on Saturday

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) In a bid to take on the ruling SP and Mayawati-led BSP in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, the BJP on Thursday announced a 17,000-km ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in the state from Saturday.

Party National General Secretary Bhupender Yadav and Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad made the announcement at the party headquarters here, saying the Parivartan Yatra will commence from Saharanpur and end in 192 working days.



Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are due early next year.

“BJP’s Parivartan Yatra will start from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh on November 5. It will cover 17,000 km in 192 working days,” Yadav said at the joint press briefing.

Top party leaders, including party’s National President Amit Shah and several Union ministers, will be addressing public meetings as the yatra proceeds.

Prasad said the party’s aim is to convert “hopeless Uttar Pradesh into a state of expectations”.

The minister also reminded of the good governance of BJP Chief Ministers Kalyan Singh and Rajnath Singh in Uttar Pradesh and stressed on eliminating fear and corruption from the state.

“Uttar Pradesh needs good governance, development. For investment, corruption and fear must be eliminated from the state. Uttar Pradesh remembers the days of good governance under the leadership of BJP Chief Ministers Kalyan Singh Ji and Rajnath Singh ji,” Prasad said.

“Poorna Bahumat, Sampoorna Vikas, BJP Par Hai Vishwash” will be the slogan of the party in Uttar Pradesh, the minister informed.
