Brazil, Oct 29, 2022: Brazil’s right-wing president Jair Bolsonaro and his leftist rival and former president Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula de Silva faced off at a final debate before Sunday’s presidential elections.

De Silva from Marxist Workers’ Party, who is leading in opinion polls, had been Brazil’s president from 2003-2010. However, corruption scandals had discredited his party and landed him in jail for more than a year.

Jair Bolsonaro has also received a lot of criticism owing to the rising destruction of the Amazon and poor handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil.

Lula da Silva is on the lead in all the crucial surveys. However, Bolsonaro is steadily closing the gap. As per the IPEC polling company, De Silva received 50% of the votes on Monday while Bolsonaro received 43% with a 2% margin of error.
