Breaking: CBSE reduces syllabus for classes IX-XII

In a big respite for the students appearing in higher secondary classes at schools affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education, the academic body has decided to reduce the syllabus for classes 9th to 12th for the ongoing academic session.

In a circular titled ‘Revised Academic Curriculum for the session 2020-21′, the CBSE has stated that in the prevailing health emergency has led to loss of class room-teaching due to closure of schools.

“Therefore, the board has decided to revise the syllabi for class IX-XII for the “academic session,” it stated.

CBSE has however, asked the heads of schools and teaches to ensure that the topics that have been reduced are also explained to the students to the extent required to connect different topics.

“However, the reduced syllabus will not be part of the topics for internal assessment and year-end board examination,’ the circular added.
