THIS BUDGET IS DEDICATED TO NATION BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT NOT POPULIST-SATISH UPADHYAY
Terming the General Budget 2014-15 presented by the Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley as a holistic budget, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay has said that this is the foundation of good days ahead. The effects of the provisions made in this Budget will be felt in the next decade.
Shri Upadhyay said that this is the first occasion when the Budget has taken care of the needs of both the urban and the rural areas. While the middle class and the poor will feel happy with this Budget, the industrialists have also welcomed this Budget. Effort has been made to give due respect to the young entrepreneurs, defence forces and the women in this Budget.
This budget has shown sensitivity towards to the youth and the poor by creating Young Entrepreneurs Fund of 10 thousand crore rupees and housing fund of 4000 crore rupees for the urban, poor as envisaged by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make the countrymen self dependent and self employed. The Finance Minister has also taken care of the security women of the entire country by establishing Security Fund to remove the sense of insecurity among them. Creation of Rehabilitation Fund of 5000 crore rupees for Kashiri Pandits and fund for War Memorial indicates the commitment of this government toward the society.
Pradesh President said that raising the exemption limit of income tax from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 2.50 lakh will provide 25% relief in the Income Tax and it will benefit the lower middle class of India rising with the help of their education and skill. This relief will also be very helpful for those families in which both the husband and wife are working. The lower middle income group families will be able to spend 50 thousand rupees more annually and they will also get benefit of exemption in their saving schemes.
A provision of Rs. 500 crores has been made in this budget to curb inflation which will help in controlling the prices of essential commodities. With the help of allowing FDI up to 49 percent in the housing, defence equipments production & housing sector, home loan will become easily available.
Finance Minister has made a provision of more than 500 crore rupees for Delhi in this Budget for strengthening the infrastructure of power and water in Delhi. This shows that as a citizen of Delhi he is concerned about its problems also.
On the one hand, exemption in Kisan Vikas Patra will provide relief both to the rural and urban sections and on the other hand big financial provision made for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will help in construction of clean toilets in all the villages and towns of the country. By drastically reducing excise duty on flat TV and steel utensils, the Finance Minister has provided much needed relief to the lower-middle class. By proposing establishment of institutions like AIIMS in all the states, the Finance Minister has shown his dedication for providing health services to the people during the time when the health services have become very costly.
He further said that the provision made for the construction of Smart Cities in the country as envisaged by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to ease pressure on Metropolitan cities including Delhi is commendable.
