Bureaucrats, former minister document India’s growth story, VP Venakaih Naidu releases book

A detailed book documenting India’s growth story was released by Vice President Venakaih Naidu on Monday.

Titled “Accelerating India – 7 Years of Modi Government”, the book is edited by former Minister & Rajya Sabha MP Mr K J Alphonse.

I am privileged to have co authored Chapter 7 on “Transport & Highways “.

The former Union Minister along with 25 serving and former bureaucrats have come together to document 7 years of Modi Government, For the benefit of critics and supporters of the Modi government.

The document lists achievements of the Modi government in a book that can be a go-to guide for many MPs who want facts about their own government’s works.

The book has a foreword by NSA Ajit Doval.

Many of the bureaucrats believe that government is accountable to the people and thus warranted an initiative to list the facts and stats of development and reforms in a narrative manner.

The book has chapters from Mr Arif Mohamed Khan Hon’ble Governor Kerala, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Ayog, Mohan Kumar, former defence secretary, LC Goyal, former home secretary, Shakti Sinha, former chief secretary Andamans, Vrinda Sarup, former secretary education, Ashish Bahuguna, former secretary agriculture, Preeti Sudan, former secretary, health and family welfare, Anantha Nageswaran, member economic advisory council to the PM.

Moreover, Sanjeev Sanyal, Principal Economic Advisor, Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO, Hero Motor Corporation, Bharat Lal, mission director, National Jal Jeevan Mission, CK Mishra, former secretary, Forest, Gauri Kumar, former labour secretary, Jugal Mohapatra, former secretary, Rural development, Sudhir Bhargava, former CIC, S Machendranathan, former IAS, Ravinder Singh, former culture secretary and few of the former chief secretaries have also given their inputs in form of different chapters.
