businessman robbed of Rs 4.5 lakh at gunpoint

: A city-based businessman on Friday alleged that he was robbed of Rs 4.5 lakh at gunpoint by eight assailants near Sector 71 in broad daylight, as he drove home.

Police said discrepancies in 35-year-old Pramod Sharma’s allegations of robbery have made them suspicious. After the alleged incident, the victim had called up the police control room and said that he was robbed of Rs one lakh. But when cops reached the spot, he changed his statement and claimed that the assailants looted Rs 4.5 lakh from him.
