After Buying Plot on Moon, Sushant Singh Rajput Exchanges Notes with Super-Scientist Karan Jani on Twitter!

Most people know him for his magnificent performance in M.S.Dhoni- The Untold Story but not many are aware of the studious side of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput. Today a part of it became evident to his fans with the deep and insightful conversation that he had with scientist Karan Jani.

Sushant who has about 1.5 million followers on twitter indulged into a scientific conversation with Karan on the concepts of LIGO. He has also recently purchased land on the Moon. The actor is already an owner of an advance telescope called the Meade 14” LX600, which can help him keep an eye on this prime piece of real estate from his home on Earth.

It seems like in preparation for his film Chanda Mama Door Ke, Sushant Singh Rajput has truly gone above and beyond the call of duty to prepare himself for this role.

While Sushant did mould himself physically to fit the role, he also made sure that his knowledge about the vast construct of space was broadened through the insights from various experts. Sushant was also a rank holder in engineering entrance examinations and also won accolades in Physics Olympiad. wasn’t enough – his drive to become the character he’s playing is so intense that this thirst for knowledge regarding this field is insatiable as of right now.

World-renowned space scientist Karan Jani, a member of the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) scientific collaboration and a colleague of Kip Thorne, the Nobel Laureate who served as the scientific consultant for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, today had a stimulating twitter exchange with Sushant Singh Rajput.

Karan was invited earlier this year to give a TED Talk for Shahrukh Khan’s show where he won the hearts of his audience by giving a talk on the importance of science in spearheading the development of the country.

After the talk, Karan met up with Sushant on, what was supposed to be, a two-hour dinner and chat session. The actor, among other things, talked about his venture Innsaei which aimed to improve the functioning of various sectors of the economy by integrating the latest emerging technologies, such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 3D Printing, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, to name a few.

Their discussion, thanks to Sushant’s vast knowledge in Karan’s field of research, went up to 8 am the next morning after which Karan was clearly impressed. He later on tweeted mentioning Sushant and said that their conversation were “so intense that (Christopher) Nolan would take notes”.

Dr. Jani was impressed by the fact that a Bollywood actor had such incredible insights into the world of science, and both people ended up forming a great connection over this mutual interest. Their productive conversation stretched over to Twitter as well, where everything from black holes to gravitational waves was up for discussion.

Sushant had tweeted in the early hours of the day about his wish for LIGO to come to India and be the vehicle for pushing boundaries in gravitational research, but this time from India. The wish led to a twitter exchange where both of them bonded over their hope for LIGO to come to India.

Well, we hope their dreams are fulfilled and India continues on its inspiring journey to become the world leader in scientific research in the world.

Dr. Karan Jani is an astrophysicist associated with the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) scientific collaboration. His areas of research includes astrophysical black holes and testing Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity. Dr. Jani, a scientist of Indian origin, was invited by Honorable PM of India Shri Narendra Modi to discuss the greater role of expanding his research in India.
