Patna, Oct 17 (PTI) Film actor-turned-BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today said the “cancellation” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallies in Bihar was sending a “negative message”.

“A situation that led our star campaigner PM to cancel his Bihar rallies at the last minute…sending a negative message???” Sinha tweeted.

Sinha, who has not addressed a single election rally in Bihar so far despite having been named among the star campaigners, blamed some “dictatorial” leaders in the party’s state unit for “creating the mess and an undesirable situation”.

“Hope, wish and pray that despite some teething troubles and electoral problems, we do as well as we expected in the Bihar elections,” Sinha, who was cabinet minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, said in a series of tweets.

Yesterday, he had expressed concern over the spiralling price of pulses and asked the Centre to take urgent steps to contain it. “Dal prices touch Rs 200. Urgent steps required by Centre to contain this! We have seen the tears that onion prices have brought in the past,” Sinha had said.

The Bihari Babu’s comments came in the wake of cancellation of the Prime Minister’s rallies at Buxar, Paliganj and Vaishali.

While JD(U), RJD and Congress have attributed cancellation of the rallies to good polling in favour of secular alliance in the first two phases of voting, BJP has rubbished it.
