Census 2027: Andhra Pradesh CM registers personal details on website
Amaravati, April 16 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu registered his personal details through the online portal as self-enumeration exercise began in the state on Thursday as part of Census 2027.
The online registration process commenced for details as part of the ‘House Listing – Housing Census’.
The Chief Minister registered his details on the website se.census.gov.in.
J. Nivas, the Director of Census for Andhra Pradesh, explained the details of this self-enumeration process — which consists of a total of 33 questions — to the Chief Minister.
He informed the Chief Minister that an opportunity has been provided for citizens to personally register details regarding their households online until April 30.
He further stated that from May 1 to May 30, enumerators would conduct a physical house-to-house census enumeration process.
Responding to this, Chief Minister Chandrababu remarked that the state government is working with a firm resolve to deliver the fruits of welfare and development equally to all citizens across the state. He emphasized that, to achieve this, it is essential to formulate development plans by treating the family as the primary unit. He stated that the census plays a pivotal role in realizing this objective.
The Chief Minister expressed the view that this census programme — being conducted in Andhra Pradesh for the first time since the bifurcation of the state — serves not merely as an exercise in data collection, but also as a means to lay a strong foundation for development.
He noted that the census exercise is scheduled to be conducted in two phases, with the first phase — the house enumeration — commencing today.
He stated that the collection of census data would commence in the second phase, beginning next year.
The Chief Minister appealed to the public to make full use of the opportunity to self-register online for the ongoing house listing and house census programme. He urged citizens to contribute to the state’s development by providing accurate details during the registration process.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called upon everyone to actively participate and ensure the overall success of this census exercise.
