Punjab, Sept 19th, 2022: After massive protests broke out in Punjab’s Chandigarh University over objectionable videos of female students allegedly being leaked, hostel warden Rajvinder Kaur has been suspended for misbehaving with the students and the University is shut till Saturday.
The girl who allegedly shot obscene videos of 60 other girl students and circulated them, is known to be from Mohali.
She was reported to send a video of herself to her boyfriend living in Shimla.
The 23-year-old, Sunny Mehta from Shimla has been arrested by the Himachal Pradesh Police in connection to the case.
The hostel warden, Kaur was seen misbehaving with the accused outside the university and was also seen ill-treating and shouting at the students who were part of the protest.
The incident sparked a flurry of reactions from political parties and the central and state women’s rights bodies too stepped in.
Protests however have died down now. The accused girl student and her boyfriend from Shimla are in police custody now.
