Chargesheet against 3 govt officials, ‘aides’ in Greater Noida land scam

A week after the Greater Noida police lodged an FIR against 18 people, including officials of the land consolidation department, for misappropriating land and land compensation pertaining to a huge area falling under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the crime branch has filed a chargesheet against six accused in the Gautam Budh Nagar court.

According to crime branch officials, the six against whom the chargesheet has been filed include three officials of the land consolidation department. The other three booked are land mafia from Jaganpur and Afzalpur villages in Gautam Budh Nagar. The three government officials include two accountants and one registrar from the land consolidation department. The chargesheet has been submitted in the court of the chief judicial magistrate, GB Nagar. More heads are likely to roll in the scam, officials said.
