New Delhi, 26th June 2023: The company behind the well-known platform ChatGPT is preparing to build a marketplace. This OpenAI platform will mostly be used by businesses. According to The Information, this marketplace would allow developers to sell AI models developed on top of OpenAI’s own AI technology.

The marketplace seeks to serve enterprise customers, who frequently tailor OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology for specific use cases like fraud detection or market research. These developers’ models might be made available to other businesses via OpenAI’s planned marketplace.

According to the report, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman outlined prospective marketplace ambitions at a meeting with developers in London. If successful, this marketplace might compete with current app stores run by OpenAI’s customers and technology partners, such as Salesforce and Microsoft.

It may also assist OpenAI in expanding its customer base and making its technologies more accessible to a wider audience.

According to The Information, two OpenAI customers, Aquant (a manufacturer software provider) and Khan Academy (an education app producer), may indicate interest in offering their AI models powered by ChatGPT on OpenAI’s marketplace.

ChatGPT has achieved significant popularity among enterprises aiming to automate operations and improve operational efficiency since its launch in late 2022.

Offering clients new solutions based on AI software has become a competitive sector as companies rush to utilise the capabilities of advanced large language models (LLMs).
