New Delhi: Raising question mark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy, Congress spokesperson on Tuesday said that after North Doklam, now China has constructed roads at South Doklam which is closer to the chicken root and Siliguri corridor which connects North-East to the rest of the country.
He made these allegations while addressing media on Tuesday evening at party head office.
“Prime Minister and Defence minister have failed to protect Doklam region and China is constantly carrying out construction in that region. After building military complex, 7 Helipads and numerous roads China has started construction in south Doklam,” said Congress spokesperson RN Singh.
He futher said taking no lesson from 73-day long stand off, the government has become mute spectator. “If China would not stop now, soon they will claim Doklam as their part. Modi government who claimed to take back the region should act now. It’s not about politics but national security.” He asserted.
In addition to that he said, on January 2018, when Congress revealed that China is developing infrastructure at Doklam and also provided evidence for the same, the Union government refuted the allegations, however, during the Parliament, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman admitted that Congress’ claims were right.” He added.
