Christmas celebrated at G.D.Goenka Faridabad

A Christmas Special Assembly was celebrated enthusiastically at G.D Goenka Public School, Faridabad on 24th December 2015. The beautiful Christmas decor, beckoned all to the festive preparations for the day’s celebration.

The assembly began with a prayer and the significance of the festival was well elucidated by Yukti Malik of class XI B. School premises became alive with the harmonious and synchronized performances of Indian and Western Orchestra.

The school choir then brought in, the true feeling of the spirit of the festive season, through the melodious chimes of Christmas carols in Hindi and English.

Fun and Frolic, Good Cheer and Happiness were seen in the revelry as students danced to the foot-tapping Christmas song. Santa’s much awaited entry, was the culmination of the whole show, as children hoped to get a sweet from Santa as he merrily wished the august gathering, ‘Merry Christmas & a Prosperous New Year-2016.’

The meritorious shining star of the school, Yash Thakur of class IV A, who brought laurels to the school by being declared the National Level Champion in NLC i.e. National Level Abacus Championship 2015 in C-O level of Abacus course was felicitated by the school Principal.

To add another feather in the cap, our school stood first in Toon Dance and third in 3D Comic Script Designing at Prerna, the Inter school competition, held at MVN Aravali, wherein 15 different schools participated. The winners were appreciated and received the blessings of the school Principal.

Scholarship is a platform to motivate the students to perform well in academics. Thus, scholarships were awarded to Kaashvi Dewan (for class II), Mohini Goyal (for class V), Prachi Goyal (for class VI), Parijat Kumar (for class VII), Yogita Tyagi (for class VIII), Lakshay Sharma and Yukta Goel (for class IX) and Tanishq Mehra (for class X) for their academic brilliance in the session 2014-15.

The winners were well appreciated by one and all. The curtains were then drawn with the Speech of Principal Dr. Shreesh Bhardwaj and vote of thanks. The Christmas message, ‘Reach out to Those In Need At All Times’ was well-accepted. Children left the assembly happy with the aim to celebrate Christmas with a new spirit of caring and sharing, to spread the joy of the season around.
