CITU demands for hike in minimum wage of workers of Delhi & NCR

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Monday staged a protest against Union government at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding a hike in minimum wage of factory workers of Delhi and NCR.

Earlier, CITU submitted a memorandum to the government seeking Rs18,000 a month as minimum wages and to set up a welfare board for the workers of Delhi and NCR.

Gangeshwar Dutt Sharma, General Secretary, CITU, said that, all the workers engaged in construction of buildings, roads and runways are eligible to get the enhanced minimum wages as per the said notification of Delhi government and Union government is acting against the cause.
The CITU requested to issue necessary instructions to the authorities concerned to ensure implementation of the revised minimum wages for the categories of workers working in the Delhi NCR region.
