CM Arvind Kejriwal to initiate special campaign against Dengue and Chikungunya in the capital soon!

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced that a special campaign against dengue will be initiated soon, that will involve the participation of people in preventing the spread of mosquito borne diseases, dengue and malaria. Kejriwal also said that he along with his ministers and government officials will personally help to check the mosquito breeding places in the city.
At the press conference held at Delhi secretariat, Kejriwal said “I appeal to Delhi residents to give 10 minutes every Sunday from September 1 till November 15 in ensuring that there is no stagnant water in their houses or surroundings which can cause breeding of dengue carrying mosquitoes.”
The government will ensure participation of school children, resident welfare associations and other stakeholders in the campaign.
The chief minister said efforts like establishing Mohalla Clinics and fever clinics have led to 80 per cent decrease in dengue, malaria, chikungunya and zika virus cases in past three years.
