CM Kejriwal flags off first Electric bus in Delhi

New Delhi, January 17: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal along with Delhi’s Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot flagged off the 1st Electric bus of Delhi on Monday from DTC IP Depot.

Kejriwal in the inauguration ceremony announced that there’ll be overall 2000 such buses of which 300 buses will be induced by April.

Stating about the same, he said, “It has ZERO emissions, can be charged in 1.5 hr & runs min. 120 km. Overall we’ll have 2000 such buses; 300 by April”

Kejriwal taking to Twitter announced & congratulated Delhities on the Inauguration of the first Electricity bus in the city from Today. He tweeted, “Greetings to all Delhiites. The first electric bus has started running on the roads of Delhi from today. 300 electric buses will soon be added to DTC’s fleet.”

He further encouraged citizens to switch their vehicles to electric vehicles to curb pollution in the Capital, he said,
“You must also contribute in this war against pollution by switching your vehicle to electric.”

The features of this environment-friendly bus, other than being electric, includes, zero emissions, 12-meter-low-floor AC buses, pink seats for ladies.

Moreover, it also includes bus kneeling with ramp for differently-abled, CCTV Cameras, GPS & live tracking as well as enabled panic buttons for safety purposes.
