New Delhi, July 28, 2023: A horrifying incident unfolded in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Friday when a college student was brutally killed after being attacked with an iron rod.

The victim, a 25-year-old girl studying at Kamala Nehru College, had gone to a park near Aurobindo College with her male friend when the tragic event took place.

The police swiftly apprehended the 28-year-old male friend, identified as Irfan, believed to be the assailant responsible for the vicious attack. According to sources, Irfan had intentions of marrying the victim, Nargis. However, the girl’s family refused his proposal, leading to a strained relationship between the two.

The shocking discovery was made when authorities received information about the lifeless body of the young girl near Aurobindo College in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the victim had sustained severe head injuries, and an iron rod was found near her body at the crime scene.

Reacting to the disturbing incident, Swati Maliwal, the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, expressed her concern on social media. In a tweet, she lamented the unsafe environment in Delhi and the lack of attention to such heinous crimes. Maliwal emphasized the need for immediate action to ensure the safety and security of women in the city.
