‘COLORS OF JOY’ by NEELAM MANSHARAMANI
A solo Art Show by Neelam Mansharamani , launched at the Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre, 1 A, Janpath, New Delhi 110011 on 30th March, 2015 at 6.00PM.
The Show was inaugurated by Mr. K L Ganju, Honorary Consul General, Consulate of Union of Comoros, Mr Tibor Kovacs, Director, Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre & Ms. Subha Rajan , Head External Affairs , Confederation of Indian Industry & a Motivational Thinker .Mr. Paramjit S. Kochar, Art Curator & Writer.
An ardent Visual Artist then, Neelam Mansharamani, a well read & a well bred young girl started her career in a reputed Advertising Agency & topped it up with a few assignments in a couple of Embassies / Diplomatic Missions. As a normal dreaming young girl, she ventured into histrionics, walked on the Fashion ramps & had a dig into some social projects, before landing up into a blissful marriage with an aptly educated Management Professional. Soon after a happy marriage, she was blessed with a lovely son. As they say, “A Woman’s life is completed on attaining Motherhood”, but her Life actually Started on being a Mother. Her husband, soon, ceased to be, leaving her & the juvenile alone in the World. The son, who was born as a lovely & brilliant child, turned a Challenged Special Child. A young, vibrant & promising girl was left alone to face the brunt of bringing up an abnormal child. It was /is a challenge for her & she is taking this challenge heroically. She took up a job in her husband’s Organization, the International Airport Authority of India, learnt the science of Bringing Up Special Children, in which subject, she now delivers lectures & does counselling. She learnt Astrology & did a course in that. She paints the canvasses, drawing inspiration from the odds of her own life.
Wordsworth said, “Poetry is the Spontaneous Overflow of the deep passions in a person”. I feel that Art is Visual Poetry. As a poet expresses his feelings in words, an Artist conveys her mind by virtue of sketches, hues & works. In her series titled ‘COLORS OF JOY’ being exhibited , Neelam has rightly portrayed her Thoughts, evolved out of her own life of being a Painter, a Creator, a F ender, an Actor, a Director, a Character & above all a MOTHER, MAA TUJHE SALAAM.
To this day, she is leaving no stone unturned in nursing her 28 years old child & to meet her both ends meet, she is diligently doing her job. Out of her limited salary, she is meeting the high cost of upbringing her child at Tamanna, at Vasant Vihar , New Delhi . In spite of her pre – occupation with her job & Child, she paints & puts up her show of her canvasses. Hence the title COLORS OF JOY
