  • Conclusion of Self defence training programme for women on “international women day”.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, The North West District organized a Programme in coordination with NGO, World Vision in North-West District at Ram Lila Ground, Lal Bagh, Azadpur Delhi to facilitate women who learnt self defense techniques. As many as 350 married women between 18 to 40 years were attended the programme. The participants were very enthusiastic and serious in understanding the issues and attended the programme despite occupied with their household chores and domestic responsibilities.

A Pantomime Show and Nukud Natak were also presented to make them aware as to how girls and women are subjected to sexual abuse and domestic violence and their role in pre-empting the abuse. They were also informed about the Women Helpline and HIMMAT App meant for safe and security for women.

On sharing their feedback, the participants expressed confidence and appreciated holding of the programme.  There has been check on the incidents of crime against women in Lal Bagh Area of PS Adarsh Nagar owing to the police-public interface.

The NGO World Vision landed appreciable support in arranging logistic help to make the programme successful. The undersigned along with Ms Vijayanta Arya, IPS Addl. DCP/NWD, ACsP & SHOs North West District and Ms Marcy Head of the NGO World Vision attended the programme.
