A high-level delegation, under the leadership of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Shri Arvinder Singh, MLA, today met Lt. Governor Dr Najeeb Jung, and gave him a copy of the charge-sheet prepared by the Congress party against the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party, and sought his intervention to resume the developments in Delhi, which have been put on hold, immediately. The Pradesh Congress sought action against the power companies for their anti-people actions and demanded that the licence of these companies be terminated if there was no reduction in the  inflated bills received by the consumers, as the power companies were forcing the consumers to increase the load capacity. The Congress Party also sought that a notification be issued to save the e-rickshaw drivers from being rendered jobless, and alleged that the Central Government was deliberately keeping the court in the dark about the real facts.

Chief spokesperson of the party Shri Mukesh Sharma said at a press conference held at the DPCC office, Rajiv  Bhawan, here today that the DPCC delegation had informed the Lt. Governor that if the high-handed behaviour of the power companies was not stopped forthwith, and if the power companies force the consumers to increase the load capacity, and if there was no reduction in the inflated power bills, then the residence of the Lt. Governor would be gheraoed, and would  make a bonfire of the power bills. He said the delegation, which met the Lt. Governor, included CLP leader Shri Haroon Yusuf, former Minister Rajkumar Chouhan, MLA Jai Kishan, Congress leaders Dr Naresh  Sharma and Kamalkant Sharma.

The Congress leaders also requested the Lt. Governor to give priority for the regularization of the employment of the Home Guard jawans. They alleged that due to the collusion  of the BJP and AAP, these jawans were not given a five-year extension. The Congress leaders said the law and order situation was not good in Delhi, and because of that there was an urgent need for the services of the Home Guards. The Congress leaders also requested the Lt. Governor not to displace thousands of people involved in plastic trade at  Tikri Kalan.

The Congress leaders pointed out that over 20,000 people were making a  living out of the plastic trade there. The Congress delegation also brought up the issue of shortage of teachers in the Government schools of Delhi, and requested the Lt. Governor to appoint guest teachers in Delhi schools with immediate effect. The Congress leaders also made a strong protest against the move to remove the JJ clusters in East Delhi’s Chanderpuri, Ajit Nagar, Dharampura, Kailash Nagar and Sonia Gandhi camp, and alleged that this move was being initiated at the behest of the BJP.

Shri Mukesh Sharma said the Lt. Governor was strongly informed   about the deliberate “BJPisation” of the administration in Delhi, and because of that, there was indiscipline in the administration, leading to wide-spread corruption. The party also gave a detailed account of the charge-sheet to the Lt. Governor point by point, and requested him to make a direct intervention to resume the stopped development works in Delhi.

Shri Mukesh Sharma said the party has given the Lt. Governor 15 days time to act on the charge-sheet and inform the Congress Party about the steps being taken by the Government, and issue an order to complete all the works on a time-bound basis.

Shri Mukesh Sharma also alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party was conducting a bogus survey drama so as to prevent the AAP MLAs from breaking away. He said the AAP MLAs were in regular touch with the BJP, and Shri Arvind Kejriwal was aware of it. He asked Shri Kejriwal why was he not speaking against the power companies. Shri Sharma alleged that because of Kejriwal’s secret deal with the power companies, the consumers were being browbeaten and  getting inflated power bills.
