New Delhi (India), May 2, 2023: The Congress party has unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, making bold promises and proposing a ban on organizations that “promote enmity or hatred” such as the Islamic outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) and Bajrang Dal.
The party believes that the “law and Constitution is sacrosanct and cannot be violated by individuals and organizations promoting enmity or hatred, whether among majority or minority communities.”
In a tweet, Congress stated that they will take decisive action, including imposing a ban on any such organizations, as per the law. Additionally, the party’s manifesto highlights its top five promises to the people of Karnataka. Under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, free electricity of up to 200 units will be provided to all households in the state. The Congress has also promised to provide ₹2,000 to each woman head of the family under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme.
Furthermore, the Anna Bhagya scheme aims to provide 10 kg of food grains per month to every person in Below Poverty Line (BPL) family. Under the Yuva Nidhi scheme, the party plans to provide ₹3,000 per month to unemployed graduates and ₹1,500 to unemployed diploma holders. Lastly, Congress has proposed the Shakti scheme, which will offer free travel to all women in regular KSRTC/BMTC buses throughout the state.
The Congress’ manifesto aims to provide comprehensive benefits and support to the people of Karnataka. With a focus on women, youth, and those in need, the party is committed to upholding the law and Constitution and ensuring that organizations promoting enmity or hatred are dealt with in accordance with the law.
