New Delhi, 11th March: After joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of BJP President JP Nadda on Wednesday, Jyotiraditya Scindia called his decision of resigning from the Indian National Congress as a ‘life-changing event’ of his life. “There have been two life-changing events for me – one, the day I lost my father and the second, yesterday when I decided to choose a new path for my life,” he said.

BJP National President JP Nadda said that today is a matter of great happiness for all of us and today I am remembering our senior-most leader late Rajmata Scindia. Both the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and the BJP have been a major contributor to the ideology from the founding and establishment of the party.

Scindia also thanked BJP President JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for inviting him into the saffron party.

Criticising the Congress party, Scindia added, “The Congress party is not anymore the party that it was earlier. I can say with confidence that the aim of public service is not being fulfilled by Congress. Besides this, the present condition of the party indicates that it is not what it used to be,” he further added.

Scindia resigned from the Congress party on Tuesday saying, “It is now time for me to move on…This is a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year.” He was a part of Congress for 18 years since 2001.
