New Delhi, Dec 22, 2022: Congress on Thursday took a swipe at the BJP saying “Aap Chronology Samjhiye” (Understand the Chronology) as it pointed out that Union Health Minister Mandaviya wrote to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over Covid concerns and PM Modi was set to review Covid situation in India just days before Bharat Jodo Yatra enters India.
The Congress’ jab came just hours before Prime Minister Modi was set to chair a meeting to review the situation related to COVID-19 in the country at a high-level meeting Thursday afternoon.
“4 cases of Omicron sub-variant driving Chinese surge were reported in Gujarat and Odisha in July, September & November,” Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet.
“Health Minister writes a letter to Rahul Gandhi yesterday. PM is reviewing situation today. Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Delhi day after. Ab Aap Chronology Samjhiye,” he said.
The Congress has accused the government of rendering selective treatment towards Bharat Jodo Yatra over Covid concerns and added that the BJP was taking out marches in Karnataka and Rajasthan. The party further asserted that public health is far too serious an issue to come under party politics.
On Wednesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, referring to concerns raised by three BJP MPs over the spread of coronavirus, urged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to consider suspending the Bharat Jodo Yatra if Covid protocols cannot be adhered to.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari on September 7 and has already traversed through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It is set to enter Delhi on December 24, and after a break of about nine days, it will move on to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and finally, Jammu and Kashmir.
